Discord for Manifold
In the past few years I’ve had a number of fun meetups with Manifold listeners in places like SF, NYC, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai.
One thing that stood out: People who listen to Manifold are a highly selected group - many are quite prominent or successful or intelligent or learned. At each meetup some lasting friendships were formed in which people from the same city who share interests, but might otherwise never meet in real life, got to know each other.
In NYC a few weeks ago, one attendee (DE Shaw trader) suggested I create a Discord channel to facilitate more of this goodness.
With some help, I created this channel:
It’s just getting started so don’t expect a lot of activity. But please introduce yourself in the #INTRODUCTIONS channel if you feel so inclined :-)
I don’t know if there are enough listeners to sustain active discussions, but we’ve created some specific threads for recurring Manifold themes. At some point I’d like to do some live Q&As using Discord.
