Having closely followed both of these issues from the beginning, I learned little that was new. But in the case of Ukraine circa 2014 and beyond, I would like to see a list of the individuals who were driving the expansion of NATO. I sometimes get the impression that they must have been a bunch of true believing former Trotskyites blindly wedded to the idea of "world revolution," only in this case in behalf of "democracy" instead of "communism." Ideological fanatics in other words. Or was it rather a case of group think and peer pressure with a momentum all its own?
